Quardex Metal Sequestrant

Pools filled from a well or from hard mains water often carry dissolved iron, copper and manganese. Once these metals meet chlorine and oxidise, they cling to surfaces: brown, green or grey stains appear on tiles and liner, and the water itself can take on a faint tint. Quardex Metal Sequestrant binds the metal ions and holds them in solution, so they neither precipitate nor stain.

It is normally applied when the pool is first filled and after every substantial top-up: with the circulation pump running, the product is poured into the water while walking around the pool, then the filter is left to turn the water over several times. Follow the dosage stated on the product label. If shock chlorination is planned, the sequestrant goes in first and the chlorine afterwards; the two are never combined in the same container.

This is a preventive product: it does not erase stains that have already set, which call for separate surface cleaning. The 10 kg pack suits pools fed by well water, where the metal load is constant rather than occasional. Store it cool and dry, out of children's reach, and apart from other pool chemicals.
